Val di Toro is a family owned and managed winery in the heart of Maremma in Southern Tuscany. We produce outstanding wines using organic principles and we pride ourselves on meticulous winemaking using only the most natural practices and the best fruit, working within the framework of nature and try to follow the path she directs, with a human input along the way. Our wines are about bringing together great passion to create the ultimate experience.
As with most Tuscan wines, our main grape variety is Sangiovese which we use for both reds and rosés. We also have a small production of Montepulciano and recently of Ciliegiolo. For the white wines we use Vermentino which finds one of its best expressions in Maremma and a small quantity of Grechetto, a vine with a great personality typical of central Italy.
